About Nairobi International school
Nairobi International School (NIS), founded in September 2008 by the visionary educator Radhika Lee, is a distinguished private school located in the exclusive Lavington suburb of Nairobi. Ms. Lee, with almost four decades of experience in international education, launched NIS as the first dedicated E-school in East Africa, pioneering a new era of technology-driven learning.
A Vision of Global, Technology-Based Education
NIS is committed to providing high-quality, technology-based education to students of all races, religions, and nationalities. Our educational model is built on fellowship, enormous choice, and responsibility, ensuring students are prepared not just academically, but as ethical global citizens.
Pioneering Technology: As the original E-school in East Africa, technology is fully integrated into teaching and learning, supporting an environment where students utilize digital tools for creativity, research, and critical analysis.
British International Curriculum: NIS follows the British National Curriculum (Key Stages 3-5), preparing students for recognized global qualifications:
IGCSE: Offered at Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11).
GCE A-Levels & BTEC: Offered at Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form), providing clear pathways to top universities worldwide.
Multicultural Community: We welcome a diverse body of students, fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and global awareness that enriches the educational experience.
Holistic Approach: The school emphasizes character development, self-discipline, and social responsibility alongside academics, including a weekly ‘Reflections’ programme for spiritual growth.
The unique, technology-focused learning environment at Nairobi International School is supported by extensive campus amenities and dedicated student support programs.
