About Victorian Girls High School
Victorian Girls High School is a dedicated private girls’ boarding secondary school that has provided a nurturing and academically focused environment since its establishment in 2009. The school first opened its gates to the initial two students, driven by the vision of founding directors Abraham Njenga Gachegua and Sarah Wambui. They conceived the idea of an all-girls environment where students would not only learn but also be provided with parental guidance a true “home away from home”. Located strategically in a conducive environment, Victorian Girls High School is committed to empowering young women in Kenya.
Values, Vision, and Foundational Ethos
The school’s ethos is built upon providing comprehensive support and strong character development alongside academic achievement.
Founding Principle: Our establishment was rooted in the commitment to provide a safe, stable, and nurturing boarding environment that replicates the care and guidance found at home, fostering emotional well-being and resilience in young women.
Holistic Empowerment: The school exists to empower girls to excel not only academically but also in character, leadership, and social responsibility, ensuring they leave as well-rounded and confident individuals.
Discipline and Guidance: We prioritize strong discipline and mentorship, recognizing these as the essential foundations for academic success and ethical leadership in the future.
Curriculum Approach and Academic Focus
Victorian Girls High School provides a rigorous and forward-thinking curriculum, designed to prepare students for higher education and future careers.
National Curriculum Rigour: The school is committed to delivering the Kenya National Curriculum, embracing the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework at the Junior and Senior Secondary levels. Our experienced faculty ensures comprehensive coverage and deep understanding.
Focus on the Girl Child: The all-girls setting allows for a specialized focus on the unique educational needs and developmental challenges faced by young women, promoting self-confidence, assertiveness, and strong peer support.
Diverse Co-Curriculars: We offer a robust calendar of co-curricular activities, including science clubs, debate, and various sports, essential for discovering and nurturing talents outside the classroom.
Victorian Girls High School provides an outstanding, disciplined, and nurturing secondary education, shaping young women into ethical, confident, and competent leaders of tomorrow.
